The practice

Dedicated to this region since 2002.

Northern Rivers Cardiovascular Clinic was established to keep specialist cardiac care in the towns where people live — Lismore, Ballina and Maclean.

History

A local clinic, not a fly-in service

Since December 2002, Northern Rivers Cardiovascular Clinic has been dedicated to cardiac services for the Northern Rivers of NSW. Our doctors remain at the forefront of contemporary cardiac care, regularly updating their expertise through major conferences and active membership of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand.

We visit Lismore Base Hospital and John Flynn Private Hospital, so investigation and treatment can stay as close to home as the medicine allows.

Sonography

The clinic is supported by skilled echo technicians — David, James and Jo — who perform echocardiograms and stress tests in collaboration with our doctors.

Device clinics

We host regular clinics with pacemaker and defibrillator company technicians, so implanted devices are monitored and maintained with proper follow-up.

Teaching

From time to time, medical trainees join the practice. We encourage you to welcome them — they are the next generation of physicians for this region.

How we work

Unhurried, practical, regional

We are a specialist clinic, not an emergency department. Referrals from GPs and other specialists shape the day. Investigations are chosen because they will change a decision, and results are written so your usual doctor can act on them.
